Possible Causes Of Bleeding Gums

Gums are one of the most sensitive parts of the mouth which gets affected quickly with certain problems in your teeth. Oral health of your teeth depends on healthy and disease free gums. Bleeding from the gums is a very common symptom in various diseases associated with your teeth or gums. Below is the quick explanation of all possible reasons for the same.

Brushing and Flossing: 
 
Brushing your teeth inappropriate manner with a hard bristled brush or flossing your teeth with a string which isn’t suitable for flossing can damage the sensitive issues of the gums, which subsequently result in bleeding. Ideally, you should be careful doing brush or flossing and should know the proper way to do so.

Gum Diseases:

There are several parameters which cause gum diseases and appropriate treatment on right time is must to avoid serious damage. Bacteria caused by junk remained between teeth or not cleaning the teeth properly cause dental plaque on teeth. Swollen and redness in the gums are the initial symptoms of it, also known as “Gingivitis”. So, whenever something gets in contact with the gums, in this condition, bleeding from gums initiated. It is also known as periodontal disease.

Smoking and Tobacco Chewing:

Chewing tobacco, keeping it underneath the lips or smoking it through cigarettes also cause gum diseases on long term. Tar present in cigarettes damage gum tissues and may result in bleeding.

Hormones:

Higher circulation of blood toward gums can cause bleeding. It is one of the most common issues women face during pregnancy when changes in hormones occurs.

Diet:

Avoiding a kind of food which contains vitamins & minerals and fights against the bacteria which spread the plague or eating a food which contains higher levels of sugar are also potential reasons for bleeding gums.

Diabetes:

Higher sugar level is present in the blood of a person having diabetes. Having issues in gums and teeth is common for a person having diabetes. If proper medicines are not taken on time, it can cause the lost of the tooth as well.

Medicines and drugs:

Taking such types of medicines which make blood thinner and make Oral tissue weak which cause for the gum bleeding. Always consult with your Doctor before taking any type of medicines.
